At Alpiq, within the IT Program & Project Delivery team, we ensure the planning, management, and quality delivery of a diverse range of projects. These projects span from modest initiatives to strategic and transformational endeavours, all aimed at serving both internal and external stakeholders across our organization. We are currently seeking for a Senior IT Project Manager that ensures the successful execution of projects, especially those within the dynamic field of energy IT trading. The ideal candidate should possess a robust background in both traditional and agile project management and delivery methodologies. Moreover, we value a pragmatic approach and a sharp focus on achieving results. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who's eager to use his skills in a energetic working environment with an engaging and value driven working culture. This role is to be based in either Olten or Lausanne. 

 

Your main responsibilities

  • Manage projects through all phases of its lifecycle
  • Manage project in line with our policies, standards and processes
  • Develop roadmaps, project charters and detailed delivery plans
  • Initiate project setup and manage it through phases and quality gates
  • Motivates the team and creates a positive project atmosphere to achieve the deliverables
  • Coordinate and deliver projects on time, within budget and in scope, owning the full project life cycle from initiation to delivery supported by the different delivery teams
  • Manage projects in a proactive way considering changes, risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies
  • Consider change impact, develop and manage the project communication plan
  • Develop, manage and report on project success criteria and benefits
  • Provide regular status report to sponsors, steering committees & stakeholders
  • Stakeholder engagement and management
  • Develop the necessary technical understanding to be able to interact with business and IT subject matter experts
  • Work closely with diverse teams and departments, particularly our IT trading team, to deliver on IT solutions for business
  • Report and follow the guidance of the department heads along with the Project Management framework
  • Plan and execute meetings and workshops

 

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, information technology or equivalent
  • 8+ years of IT project management experience ideally with a strong focus on trading-related projects
  • Demonstrated leadership in steering IT project delivery teams to success 
  • Experience in the energy and/or trading industry is highly valued
  • Project management certification, classical and/or agile i.e. PMP, Scrum Master etc.
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies and tools, and the software development lifecycle
  • Understanding of cloud and infrastructure technologies (e.g. AWS/Azure cloud, networks etc.) would be beneficial
  • Good understanding of IT operations & processes (services desks, ITIL etc.) is advantageous 
  • Understanding of IT security (active directory, PEN testing, Identity & Access Management etc.) would be a plus
  • Experience managing external suppliers is desired
  • Ability to navigate quickly between high and detailed levels tasks as needed and have a proactive mindset
  • Customer-focused, results-oriented, and proficient in planning, organization & communication
  • Collaborative mindset with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English, proficiency in German and/or French is a plus
