Portfolio Manager

Within our growing Sales and Origination business, Alpiq is currently looking for a Portfolio Manager for Italy. The role optimizes and manages the risks of our sales portfolios and interfaces closely with our Italian Sales teams and Originators. It is ideal for somebody with a few years of exposure to power and gas markets, who enjoys both analytical tasks and customer oriented work. The role is to be based at our Swiss offices in Olten. 

Your main responsibilities

• Management of the Italian end consumer gas and power Portfolio
• Position monitoring and optimisation of the Sales portfolio, setting up tailormade hedging strategies and efficient risk mitigation measures
• Identification and proactive management of non linear risk exposure
• Executing market orders received from customer
• Support the local Sales & Origination team with pricing requests and develop and pricing innovative sales and structured products in close collaboration with them
• Ensuring accurate deal capturing in the trading system and control deal processing in close collaboration with colleagues in the Mid- and Backoffice
• Performing fundamental market and price analysis (volatility, correlation and sensitivity analysis, etc.), ensuring data integrity

Your qualifications

• University degree or equivalent 
• 2-3 years of relevant working experience in a similar field, ideally in energy or financial services, exposure to Italian energy market preferred
• Good analytical skills and ability to deal with high levels of complexity, solid IT skills, ideally including some coding in xls, VBA, SQL, etc.
• Experience in statistics and stochastic modelling is a plus
• Excellent communication and influencing skills 
• Fluent English and German, Italian not a must-have
