IT Graduate Program

If you have freshly graduated, or soon to graduate, and are eager to kick-off your IT career at the leading edge of the Energy Transition, we are looking forward to hearing from you!
To contribute to our growth and further shape our activities, we present a Graduate Program tailored to the field of IT, providing opportunities to contribute and thrive. This Program has been designed to accompany junior talents along the journey to discover the dynamic energy environment. During these 18 months training program you will be assigned to three assignments within our core IT domains; IT Architecture, IT Infrastructure Services, IT Energy Management, IT, Sales & Operations, Data & Analytics and IT Trading. Your start date will be 1st of October 2024.

Alpiq’s portfolio of assets consists of flexible – hydro and thermal power plants -  and new renewable power assets. We are committed to delivering energy transition towards sustainability and managing the increased complexity that comes with this change. The IT department is serving as the support of our strategic vision, adeptly guiding us through the challenges and opportunities presented by the ongoing energy transition.

What we offer
Throughout this program you will rotate across three assignments. In each you will be directly integrated into a different IT department.. The overall program objective is to offer you a wide-ranging exposure within the IT business units. 

We will be right there with you on your journey! A Mentor from the IT management team will coach you during the 18 month program and also a Buddy from our pool of young talents will provide you with hands-on support and support your integration. 

With your assignments, you will support daily IT operations, contribute to continuous improvements and participate in projects.

In addition to the business activities, the program will include multiple training opportunities off the job tailored to your needs and focused on supporting the take-off of your career at Alpiq. 

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, Software engineering, data science or similar (completed by the start date at Alpiq)
• A maximum of 1.5 years of work experience (internships during studies don’t count).  
• Strong interest, passion and genuine motivation to explore the energy environment and eagerness to expand your knowledge during the program.
• An internationally oriented mindset, excellent communication skills along with analytical thinking, proactivity and capacity to thrive in a fast-changing environment are key.
• Determination, resilience, and team spirit will make you succeed in this role.
• Being empathetic, results-oriented, and flexible are your additional assets.
• Availability to work in Olten or Lausanne.
• Full proficiency in English, additional languages (French, German, others) are a plus.
• Swiss or EU passport (unfortunately we cannot sponsor non-EU Visas for this role).
