Senior Regulatory & Compliance Manager NWE

As we further expand our business in Northwest Europe (Finland, Norway, Sweden and Germany), we are looking for a Senior Regulatory and Compliance Manager NWE (m/f/d).

Reporting directly into the Head of Northwest Europe (NWE), you will be responsible to spot threats and opportunities arising from energy market regulations and manage compliance risks within the region.

Your main responsibilities

  • Strategic and operational regulatory management (80%):
    • Overall responsibility and coordination of strategic and operational regulatory management for Northwest Europe
    • Monitoring of relevant energy policy changes in Northwest Europe with a strong focus on: Flexibility, BESS and Hydrogen with an asset and optimisation perspective
    • Identification of operationally and strategically important topics for Alpiq NWE
    • Development of positions and strategic courses of action for NWE Management
    • Advise other internal functions on market regulated related topics
    • Structuring and updating regulatory news to the Management and other internal stakeholders
    • Participate in internal and external committees and working groups of relevant associations
  • Compliance (20%):
    • Act as local Compliance Partner for Group Compliance, fostering a compliance culture throughout Northwest Europe
    • Ensure compliance with the company's policies and procedures, and propose and develop new rules where necessary in alignment with Group Compliance
    • Local implementation of Group-wide compliance communication and training programmes
    • Support on compliance-related issues in alignment with Group Compliance. Support on the direction of Group Compliance in investigations as needed.
  • Structure the regulatory and compliance topics in Northwest Europe and build up further resources in the different markets if needed
  • Coordinate legal advice with the responsible internal lawyers
  • Align with and report to the Group Regulatory Team and the Compliance Team (dotted lines)

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in law, economics or engineering
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant professional experience focused on the Nordics energy market
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive, cooperative and task-oriented approach
  • Established network in Northwest Europe
  • Ability to work independently in a structured and transparent manner while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Fluent in English
