Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Alpiq is a leading Swiss energy services provider and electricity producer in Europe. A Site Reliability Engineering team is responsible for monitoring, automating, and improving the reliability, performance, and availability of IT systems in Alpiq.
In this role you will cooperate with Business IT units supporting the productive systems as well as participating on projects and smooth transfer from build to run. Your responsibility will be the operations and support of the trading, retail and other Business Applications within the Alpiq IT portfolio, including systems requiring 24x7 support.
Your responsibilities:
- Support Business IT Applications both on-premise and in the Cloud to provide a stable environment for the Business Users to agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Follow Best Practice processes for incidents, problems, change and configuration management to ensure an efficient support service.
- Implement patching and maintenance of Business Applications according to defined processes.
- Lead the successful transition of new Business Applications to the SRE Team ensuring they are fully documented.
- Lead implementation, process and document reviews to continuously improve the efficiency of the Team, as well as knowledge sharing activities within the Team.
- Configure and improve Gitlab CICD pipelines
- Implement and improve monitoring of various applications using Terraform code
- Part of the Rota providing On-call Support 24*7 for the critical Business Applications.
Your qualification:
- University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Hands on experience with 2nd or 3rd level support of Business Critical Applications
- Good knowledge of cloud (AWS preferred), Gitlab CICD and monitoring tools
- Good knowledge of writing SQL queries
- Experience in Linux, Windows and DB systems
- Experience with infrastructure (hardware, network and storage)
- Experience with Atlassian products is a plus (Incident Management Tool, Ticketing Systems)
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience in the trading environment is an advantage
- Providing on-call service (24/7) approx. once in 6 weeks
- Personality: analytical, solution and team-oriented, forward-looking and organized
- Languages: Fluent English
