Portfolio Analyst - Middle Office

To strengthen its Middle Office Trading department, Alpiq is looking for a Portfolio Analyst with proven professional experience in the energy markets. This position reports directly into the Head of the department and requires initiative and analytical skills. The Middle Office Trading department is responsible to provide accurate PnL and exposures reporting to the Trading department.

 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the generation and validation of various reports, such as exposures and Profit/Loss calculations from trading activities.
  • Consulting and supporting front trading units in capturing specific Trade Types.  
  • Identify sources of error and solve them proactively.
  • Monitoring portfolio structures and processes interacting with them.
  • Analyse key indicators, test new products in the trading system and support several cross-divisional processes.
  • Execution of ETRM or BI System tests when new releases appear or assistance regarding migrations of deals or adjustments to trading systems.
  • Participate in internal and external projects and/or related project management
  • Overall, be a reliable business partner and in contact with different internal departments such as Front Office, Controlling, Risk Management and Back Office.

 

Your profile:

  • Degree in economics or sciences / engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within the energy industry
  • Good knowledge of the European power and gas markets
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Pragmatic, analytical and detailed-oriented
  • Fluent in English - German, French, Italian, Spanish or any other language skills are a plus
  • EU citizen or valid EU working permit
