Data acquisition team in Alpiq is mainly responsible for market data download and distribution throughout the whole company. 


Main responsibilities:

  • Operation of several IT services (data acquisition oriented)
  • Proactive monitoring and maintenance of these services
  • Daily reporting and problem solving using in-house developed tools
  • Communication with data providers and internal data consumers
  • Two-shift work schedule (6:00 - 15:45; 15:00 – 00:45), including weekends (7:00 - 19:30)



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree
  • 2+ years of experience in IT position (operation experience preferred)
  • Mid-level SQL skills (MSSQL and Oracle), basics of HTML
  • Understanding of data formats (xlsx, csv, xml, json, …)
  • Basics of data warehousing / ETL (extract, transform, load) processes
  • Basics of system integration / ESB (enterprise serial bus)
  • Ability to analyze and understand problems and clearly communicate them
  • Self-reliance, multitasking, ability to cooperate with your team
  • Good communication skills for communicating various system issues and discussing requirements
  • Effective management of time to assure commitments are met without delay
  • Language skills: fluency in English is a must, Czech, German and/or French is an advantage
