Third Party Asset Trader Nordics (Swedish market)

You will be joining a team of 7 traders and 2 algo traders with high commitment and a strong trading skill-set that operates on a 7/7 day shift basis during working hours (and work closely with our analysts, originators, meteorologists, 24/7 intraday desk) in Olten, Switzerland. We manage a direct marketing virtual power portfolio, that consists of owned or Third party assets- mainly renewables and batteries- in Germany, France, Sweden, Finland and Italy.

 
Your responsibilities

  • Trade a virtual power plant portfolio of wind/solar in DE, FR, FI, SE on a 7/7-day shift basis in Intraday and Day Ahead market (during office hours).
  • Focus on Nordic intraday market, develop intraday and day ahead proprietary trading strategies and manage the risk of the Nordic portfolio
  • Develop daily bidding strategies for participating in capacity and energy bidding with Alpiq’s assets in Finland and Sweden.
  • Participate in the development, design and operation of our new automated/ algorithmic trading strategies in the new built Algo Framework together with the team and our algo traders
  • Daily Assessment of trading performance, analysis and back testing of executed strategies and of our automated and algo-based trading strategies.
  • Participate in elaboration of proper design and workflows around our existing automated services and our analysis tools.
  • Knowledge sharing with colleagues and 24/7 shift team
  • Collaboration and communication with Internal stakeholders (originators, quant team)
  • Help us to further develop our future set up for becoming a leading renewables team in an algo trading environment on continuous intraday power markets 
     

 

Your profile

  • University bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, Economics, IT or similar
  • Experience on Nordic- especially Sweden- DA, ID and ancillary markets, including the management and trading of a renewable assets portfolio.
  • Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset
  • Open minded, multi-tasking and used to working under pressure
  • Strong Team-player and problem-solver
  • Excellent commercial mind-set and very good communicator
  • Good programming and IT skills (ideally Python)
  • Proficient level of English, Scandinavian languages a plus
