System Engineer Hydrogen (f/m/d), 80-100%

To develop its green hydrogen activities in Europe, Alpiq is looking for a System Engineer Hydrogen to design and manage hydrogen projects (production and logistic) from a technology point of view. The position offers you the opportunity to work in a fast-growing sector and to bring your contribution to the energy transition. The role is to be based in Switzerland, in Olten or Lausanne.
Your main responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of green hydrogen production projects (i.e. electrolysers) and lead technical aspects with a focus on the H2 process
- Work closely with Business Development colleagues and contribute to the elaboration of business plans and investment cases
- Organise feasibility / concept studies inhouse and with external partners. Develop the different technical documents for the studies
- Lead the technical aspect of the permitting during the authorisation phases of projects
- Lead the equipment tendering and the selection process
- Supervise the detailed studies performed by partners/suppliers, the construction and commissioning
- Provide technical expertise for process engineering activities during all phases of the project
- Organise O&M and ensure to operate in compliance with company health, safety and environmental regulations and procedures
- Develop a strong network in the industry and with equipment suppliers
- Foster collaboration within Alpiq other units and teams in other countries
- Develop and improve internal project development tools
Your profile
- A master’s degree in Engineering from a top leading school (industrial engineering, chemical engineering)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the development of industrial projects
- A solid experience in the hydrogen industry, the chemical or the oil&gas industry
- A solid experience in the realization of technical process documents
- Good negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, autonomous, ability to motivate others and work collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders, in an international environment
- Professional proficiency level in English
- Professional proficiency level in Italian, French or Spanish. The knowledge of two of these three languages will be an advantage
