Portfolio Analyst (all)

At Alpiq, we are looking for a motivated and analytical talent to strengthen our Structured Energy Management team. In this role, you will contribute to managing our Swiss Power & Gas portfolio. With a strong focus on demand forecasting, deal capturing and scheduling operations. Your responsibilities
- Manage daily customer demand forecasts and nominations for the Swiss Sales portfolio
- Monitor client consumption patterns and advise Key Account Managers and the Portfolio Management team
- Liaise directly with clients to improve consumption prediction accuracy
- Collaborate daily with the Trading team to optimize short- and mid-term positions
- Review long-term forecasts and support cost mitigation strategies
- Analyze and report portfolio KPIs (e.g. imbalance and replacement costs)
- Evaluate marginal costs of integrating new customers
- Ensure deal capturing and implementation in close collaboration with Back-Office and Middle-Office
- Operate national registries for Guarantees of Origin (GOO)
- Support internal projects, especially in IT tool implementation and algorithm enhancement
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree (Master's is a plus) in engineering, mathematics, physics, economics or a related field (HES, university, EPF)
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in energy or finance is beneficial
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel/VBA; Python and SQL experience required
- Experience in statistics or stochastic modeling is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural team
- Availability to work in Olten or Lausanne (Hybrid)
- Fluency in English, additional languages (French, German, others) are a plus
