Following an internal move, we are looking for a Head Compliance for the Alpiq Group.  If you are a senior compliance professional with strong track record setting up and managing compliance and leading a diverse team in a diversified business environment, this may be your next challenge.  The Head Compliance is responsible for compliance across the Alpiq Group, covering a variety of business activities across Europe, including power generation, energy trading and project development.  He/she manages a group of compliance professionals in Olten, Switzerland and coordinates a network of local compliance and data protection partners throughout Europe. The position reports directly to Alpiq’s General Counsel and is ideally based in Olten, Switzerland. 


Your main responsibilities

  • Fostering strong compliance culture throughout the Group
  • Organisation and implementation of compliance risk assessments, and designing, maintaining and improving the Group’s Compliance Management System 
  • Setting-up and implementation of compliance communication programme and trainings
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance monitoring and reporting to the Executive Board and the Board of Directors, and liaising with CEO and Chairperson
  • Advice and support on compliance-related issues, including ABC, sanctions, competition law, conflict of interest, data protection, etc.
  • Overseeing KYC
  • Management of Speak Up system and carrying out compliance investigations and forensic analyses
  • Playing a key role in Alpiq’s Integrated Business Assurance Framework
  • Overseeing the Group’s internal directive system and document management system
  • Leading and developing a team of professionals in the areas of Compliance, Data Privacy and Records Management

 

Your profile

  • University degree in law (bar exam and/or specialised further education preferred)
  • Several years of professional experience in the field of compliance in an international company
  • Leadership experience, including senior stakeholder management and leading teams
  • Profound knowledge regarding Europe-wide best practice standards in compliance
  • Understanding of energy industry, in particular power, of advantage
  • Know-how in the field of internal investigations
  • Personal gravitas and ability to challenge others, ability to find and propose alternative solutions
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to inspire trust and promote cross-functional collaboration
  • Business fluent in English, with additional fluent German preferred (additional languages, in particular French, Italian and/or Spanish of advantage
