Financial Lead Nuclear Power

Location: Lausanne or Olten, CH

You provide the management with timely insights into value drivers, risks, and opportunities, enabling proactive decision-making and course corrections. You shape the future by running scenarios, stress tests, and benchmarks that anchor strategic discussions in facts and data. By actively challenging business on targets and efficiency, you create transparency, discipline, and accountability within Nuclear Power. 

Your responsibilities

As Financial Lead Nuclear Power, you understand the past, you address underperformance early and decisively and you contribute to the sustainable value creation by ensuring that resources are allocated to the most profitable and strategic opportunities. Your key responsibilities include:

1. Performance Reporting

  • Deliver management-ready reporting to the Head of Nuclear Power.

  • Leverage monthly and quarterly reporting as a strategic tool to steer performance and decision-making.

  • Provide timely, actionable insights on key value drivers, risks, and opportunities.

 

2. Business Partnering

  • Deliver forward-looking analyses, scenarios, and decision support to the business.

  • Act as a trusted co-pilot in both strategic and operational initiatives, including new business models and growth opportunities.

  • Foster a performance-driven, challenge-oriented culture across the organization.

 

3. Strategic Support

  • Provide robust analysis to support portfolio decisions, M&A activities, and capital allocation, particularly in relation to Nuclear Power.

  • Act as Alpiq’s representative in financial committees, boards, and other governance bodies of asset companies.

4. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Act as a strategic partner to the business by guiding, challenging, and consolidating planning and forecasting processes.

  • Ensure alignment between financial plans and strategic objectives.

Your profile

You combine strong strategic thinking with analytical depth and a hands-on mindset, and you are able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders. As a trusted business partner, you actively contribute to sustainable value creation for Alpiq.

You bring:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Economics, or an engineering degree complemented by advanced/executive education in finance.

  • 10+ years of experience in a corporate environment, including regular interaction with and exposure to senior leadership.

  • Good understanding of energy markets and products.

  • Proven ability to influence and challenge stakeholders across functions and hierarchical levels.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear business insights.

  • High resilience and ownership mindset, with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.

  • Extensive experience in planning, forecasting, and performance steering.

  • Solid project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.

  • Fluent in German and English, working proficiency in French.
