BESS commercialization Project Lead (f/m/d)

Alpiq is a leader in the energy sector, driving innovation and sustainability across multiple markets. We are embarking on an ambitious project to implement full commercialization capabilities for both owned and third-party Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across multiple geographies. To support the success of this initiative, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Lead to report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Trading Division.

As the Project Lead, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of a high-impact project that aims to enable the commercialization of BESS assets. You will be responsible for coordinating a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and reporting to senior management. Your expertise will ensure the successful delivery of project objectives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead Project Delivery: Drive the full project lifecycle for BESS commercialization, ensuring timely and cost-eüective delivery across multiple geographies.
• Strategic Planning: Translate high-level business objectives into actionable project plans with measurable outcomes.
• Risk Management: Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks, ensuring proper governance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stakeholder Management: Federate, coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams including resources from IT, Compliance, Legal, Trading, Quantitative and Market Analysis, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk, and Finance.
• C-Level Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and present high-level project documentation and strategic updates for C-suite stakeholders.

Your Profile:

• Experience: Several years of proven project management experience in the electricity market or utility sector, with a focus on flexible assets being highly advantageous.
• Stakeholder Coordination and Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to lead and federate teams across various functions.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present documentation for senior management and C-level executives.
• Adaptability: Capacity to navigate and drive projects in a rapidly changing environments, adjusting to evolving project scopes and market demands. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Master Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, SCRUM or equivalent project management certifications are a plus.
• Sector Knowledge: Deep understanding of the electricity markets, flexible assets, and related commercial operations.
• Technical Familiarity: Experience working on projects that involve IT systems, quantitative analysis, and market-trading platform
