This role is a great opportunity to join Alpiq’s highly specialized Intraday Services team, which supports our intraday asset trading activities with automated solutions. It’s ideal for somebody who enjoys a broad scope of responsibilities ranging from coding and modelling all the way through to managing internal and external customers. Your main responsibilities

  • Modelling flexible assets on Day-Ahead and Continuous Intraday Markets
  • Maintaining and developing processes for automated continuous optimization of Biogas Assets or related technologies (Hydrogen Production Units, BHKW’s, Batteries)
  • Implementation and enhancement of new Biogas Assets in the existing Model 
  • Developing and maintaining automated Asset Optimization Model
  • Serving Flex Pricing requests from Sales & Origination
  • Running revenue evaluations for different flexible asset types 
  • Driving Development with Cloud infrastructure to create scalable use cases to trade flexible assets
  • Helping to drive change by improving processes with modern AI technologies
  • Etc. 


Your qualifications

  • Higher education in a relevant discipline, including mathematical modelling of systems
  • Ideally a few years of experience with energy/power markets 
  • Strong programming skills in Python or similar
  • Ideally knowledge of Git Source Control, SQL, AWS, Apache and related technologies
  • Excellent analytical skills and commercial sense
  • Good team worker with winning communication and influencing skills 
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of any other language a plus
