The Short Term Asset trading team is managing the entire Alpiq's asset fleet (hydro and thermal) for the short term horizon. Our mission is to extract the value of the flexibility of the own assets on the energy markets. The team has 14 members and is located in Lausanne and Olten. This position is in Lausanne.


Accountabilities:

  • Manage the Short Term positions of the Trading Asset books, in order to maximize the value.
  • Proactively contribute on a daily basis to the short term trading strategy and the adaptation of the trading tools according to the market evolution.
  • Participate to the daily operations (e.g. power plants management, crossborder capacities auctions, exchanges), proactively contribute to the operational errors mitigation.

 

Your profile:

  • 5+ years short term trading experience with analytical mind-set and good knowledge of power markets in Western Europe
  • Knowledge of the NW European Power Exchanges and cross border auction platforms.
  • Technical or economical higher education degree (ideally mathematics, finance or similar)
  • Extended MS Office, Python
  • Highly motivated, resilient, humble and proactive
  • Good communication skills, hands-on approach and fast-paced
  • English is a must, French an asset
