Asset Originator

As we expand our Asset position across various geographies and business lines, we are looking for an Asset Originator to strengthen our capabilities and secure new opportunities.The ideal candidate identifies and secures asset-backed opportunities to enhance the company’s portfolio in European energy markets, blending commercial strategy, market knowledge, and trading. The role requires strong market insight, negotiation skills, and collaboration with various teams. By finding new opportunities and structuring deals, this person helps drive long-term portfolio growth and strengthens the company's position in dynamic energy markets.
Your responsiblities
Origination & Deal Execution
- Identify, structure, negotiate and execute asset‑backed transactions (e.g., PPAs, tolling agreements, flexibility products, long‑term hedges).
- Lead the full deal lifecycle: scouting, feasibility assessment, financial modelling, negotiation, contracting, and onboarding.
- Develop bespoke structures for illiquid or non‑standard market horizons.
Portfolio & Asset Integration
- Collaborate with Asset Trading and other Origination Teams to maximize portfolio value and align on hedging and optimization strategies
- Assess asset risk profiles and support de‑risking of long‑term and cross‑border positions.
- Contribute to asset valuation, market positioning, and integration of newly acquired or contracted assets.
Market Development
- Identify market entry opportunities in defined new geographies or product segments (e.g., flexibility, storage, hybrid assets).
- Develop and maintain a strong network with utilities, traders, industrial off‑takers, project developers, and technology providers.
- Monitor regulatory developments and incorporate them into product design and commercial strategy.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Asset trading, Structured pricing, local Origination Teams, risk, legal, asset management and trading desks to ensure robust deal execution frameworks.
- Provide commercial input for asset investment decisions, tenders, and long‑term strategy projects.
- Represent origination viewpoints in cross‑functional working groups.
Your profile
Professional Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in European energy markets, ideally in structured origination, asset‑based trading, or commercial development.
- Demonstrated track record of negotiating and closing transactions at European level..
- Strong understanding of generation assets (hydro, gas, renewables, storage), flexibility products, and market value drivers.
Technical & Market Skills
- Solid grasp of European regulatory frameworks, balancing markets, and cross‑border trading.
- Ability to build commercial models, assess optionality, and evaluate transaction profitability.
- Strong analytical capabilities complemented by practical commercial judgement.
Soft Skills
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, initiative taker, able to work autonomously with various stakeholders and drive deals forward.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are an asset.
