How do I benefit from creating a candidate profile?
A candidate needs a candidate profile in order to apply to Alpiq. This offers a lot of advantages:

Control of your personal data (as required by the European Data Protection Regulation):

  • Manage your contact and profile information any time you wish
  • Revoke your agreement to the Data Privacy Statement

E-Mail Subscriptions: Activate or de-activate your

  • “Job Notifications” to receive regular updates on new job vacancies
  • “Alpiq career news” where we can stay in touch with you for interesting career topics and tailor-made job offerings

Profile information:

  • Add, update, delete any of your profile information
  • Delete your entire profile, if you wish


  • Update, save drafts, submit or withdraw your applications
  • Follow your application status during the hiring process


What are Alpiq’s selection criteria?
The concrete criteria for the individual job opening are formulated in the job advertisement. Our selection process is based on your knowledge, qualifications and job experience, as well as on your personality and your development potential. It is important to us that you fit in with Alpiq and our corporate culture.

What information should be included in a successful job application?
Your job application should include the following items:

  • CV in PDF format
  • Cover letter describing your reasons for applying for the position
  • Education and work experience
  • Certificates and references
  • Language skills

How much time does the online application require?
Depending on your browser and Internet connection, the application requires between 10 and 15 minutes. Your first job application will take slightly longer because you will be required to register and enter your basic details. 

How do I know if my job application has been received?
You will receive an automated confirmation e-mail. You can also check the status of your application under "job applications - submitted" at any time on the application portal.

What type of questions does Alpiq ask during the job interview?
This depends on the position for which you are applying. Naturally, we will ask you questions about your career background. We are particularly interested in finding out whether you meet the professional and personal requirements for the Job.

How long does the complete application process take?
This depends on the job you are applying for. We endeavour to respond to your application as quickly as possible. Normally, it should take no longer than two months between the publishing of the job advertisement and our decision.

Do you inform the candidates before checking their references?
Yes, we obtain your permission before checking references. However, if you list references in your application documents, we assume that you have informed the people you listed as references and that you consent to us contacting them.

Can I apply again if my application is rejected?
Of course. In addition, the system allows you to apply for several positions in parallel.

Do you list all the job openings on your website or should I additionally also look on other job Portals?
We advertise all our open jobs on our career page.

Is the job position advertised on the website still vacant?
We update our job openings almost every day. Hence, you can rest assured that all the advertised jobs are still vacant.

I cannot find a suitable job. What can I do?
You can sign up for an e-mail service to inform you when there are suitable job openings. Register on our job application portal and set up a job notification service using your search criteria.

Can I apply for several jobs at once?
Once you have registered on our job application portal, you can apply for as many jobs at the same time as you want.

I could not find a suitable job opening at Alpiq. Do you also accept unsolicited applications?
You can submit an unsolicited application by creating a job applicant profile. Fill in the fields as if you were applying for a concrete job opening. In your accompanying letter, inform us of when you would like to start working or, if you wish to work on a fixed-term basis, the desired period. Please also tell us about your preferred areas of responsibility and work locations as well as the expectations you place on the new employment relationship. The more complete and up-to-date you keep your job applicant profile, the easier we can identify you as a suitable candidate for job openings.

What can I do if I have forgotten my Password?
On the login page, click on “Forgot password”. Enter the e-mail address you registered with and click on “Log on”. Within five minutes, you will receive an e-mail with a link that will allow you to reset your password.

Why can’t I upload my CV?
You can only upload documents up to a maximum size of 10 MB in the format PDF. Should you exceed this size limit, for the time being upload the most important documents, such as your CV. We will contact you if we require additional documents.

I cannot sign in due to a technical error. What can I do?
First delete the cookies in your browser. Then close the browser and restart it. Using a different browser, such as Chrome or Firefox, may also solve the Problem.

I cannot sign in due to wrong login details or because of too many failed login attempts. What can I do?
To prevent unauthorised access, repeated incorrect entry of the login details results in the automatic blocking of your profile. In order to request a new password click on “Forgot password” on the login page. Enter the e-mail address you registered with and click on “Log on”. Within five minutes, you will receive an e-mail with a link that will allow you to reset your password.

I have not received a confirmation of receipt for my job application. Have you received my application?
As soon as you have successfully submitted your job application, you receive an automatic confirmation of receipt by e-mail. In addition, the status of your job application changes to “We have received your job application and it will be reviewed by the HR Manager.” You can find this status information on the overview page of your profile ("Job applications - submitted"). If the status of your job application is still “not yet subitted”, click on “Submit application”.

How can I withdraw my job application?
Once a job application has been submitted, it can be withdrawn at any time. Navigate to the “Job applications - submitted” section and select the application that you wish to withdraw. After you have clicked on “Withdraw application” on the right, we will no longer process it.

At what stage during the application process do we talk about the salary?
The first interview is about you, the position you are applying for and addressing open questions. Although we will ask you about your salary expectations, concrete discussions regarding the financial framework conditions take place only during the second interview. During this interview, you will also receive a salary proposal in writing.
